An Update About Octo Aid Plus
Hey everyone, I wanted to give you all a quick but important update about Octo Aid Plus.
After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to stop taking on new Plus subscriptions, both monthly and the 12 month pass. This isn’t a decision I’ve made lightly. Octo Aid Plus has grown immensely, and while that’s been incredible, it also means it now needs more time and attention than I can realistically give right now. Between work and life, I just don’t have the hours to keep developing and maintaining it at the level it deserves and I’d rather pause things properly than let the experience slip in quality or reliability.
To be clear:
🟢 Octo Aid itself will stay completely free, and I’ll still release updates, improvements, and fixes when I can. Nothing about the main app is going away right now and I will endeavour to spend as much time as I realistically can on it.
If you have a 12-month Octo Aid Plus Pass, you’ll continue to receive all Plus features for the full duration of your pass. I’ll make sure everything keeps running smoothly during that time. And, while it’s only officially guaranteed for 12 months, there’s a good chance you’ll keep some of those features even after your pass ends.
The 12-month Plus Pass will also no longer be available to purchase from January 2026, so if you were considering getting one, it’ll need to be before then.
For anyone on a monthly subscription, new sign-ups are now closed. Existing monthly plans will automatically end in January 2026. Apple should handle this automatically, but please double-check your subscription then to be safe — you can follow Apple’s official steps here:
How to cancel a subscription on iPhone, iPad, or Mac
I just want to say a massive thank-you to everyone who’s supported Octo Aid Plus, it’s genuinely meant a lot seeing how many of you found it useful. This isn’t the end, it’s just me being honest about what I can manage right now. Octo Aid will keep going, getting better when I can make it better, and staying useful for everyone who relies on it.
